synchronicity

I had been playing with feathers collected form the beach, trying out string making techniques with them they are quite slippy, and only the smaller ones are flexible enough to twist. I made this little decorative thing, which remind me of the story of the princess whose brothers were turned into swans. I know she made their magic shirts out of nettles, not feathers…

And then the next day I came across this in Kildonan Museum: the original feather duster! Used for cleaning the range.
